my esteemed colleague in the stoke mining department sent me this via surfapig@live.com: Hey Gnar, me and the special lady friend have been surfing a lot and just got back from a three day backpack surf trip to Catalina. had you in mind when i took some of these photos, or rather when Naomi took them. I may or may not have been channeling a little Gnar Gnar. found this garden pig and trail 70 on the same block......... found the tube and a broken foot on the same wave. Blast it! Johnny

well, i should just get this off my chest. i really like to surf long clean well shaped waves.

mollusk surf shop is my friend. i love my friends chad and johnny. johnny was in class, chad was there. thanks for telling me to grab my board and pose for a photo chad! it felt corny at the time...but venturing out of your comfort zone now and again can be real exciting!!!

there were fun waves. i had such a ball today.

it felt great to spend long periods of time on the nose, to just sit in the pocket...and to lay my board down on the rail.
