do you love cooperfish surfboards?

if you do, here is your chance to own a 12 foot cooperfish hornet. my buddy dan is selling it. here is the info:

Gene Cooper shaped this 12'0" Hornet for Rod Osborne in Ojai, CA.  Mr. Osborne donated this board to Blinky at the Ventura Surf Shop, in order to raffle the board as a fundraiser for the "Best Day Foundation."  (See  http://www.bestdayfoundation.org.)  I bought a raffle ticket and won the board!

The board is in pristine shape.  I was told--and it does not appear--that this board has ever been in the water.  There are only a few, very superficial scratches on the glass--no dings/fractures, delamination, discoloration, soft spots, etc.  This board is a classic example of Mr. Cooper's acid splash/pigmented-resin Hornet--yet unique in terms of its 12-foot length.

If you are interested in purchasing this board, please contact Dan Klemann at danimal_h@hotmail.com.  The board is in Ventura, CA.

GC2200 9' X 22" X 3" !!!!!!!!!

marc andreini!!!!

marc sent me this via surfapig@live.com: Here is the 10' pig I keep at my house as a wall hanger!(thanks michael kew for the photo!)
he describe the board below: Here are a few of a pintail spoon!
marc's shapes are so clean! the first pic took me back. I have seen little glimpses of that board he is holding...but that shot...the board pops! then these two of the spoon. SUPER CLEAN!!! that red stripe just seems so right! Marc is super STOKED!!!

Marc mentioned he might have a pig he could shoot some photos of and post up here as a board for sale. It is currently at a shop, I sure would be stoked feature it here also.

sounds like i'll be posting a blue fin Jim Phillips pig up for sale here soon. NICE!

Gene has a 9' red fin FLEX coming up VERY SOON. OH MY!!!

gene cooper ...pig discussions...

gene cooper has this to say about pig boards:
"The plan shape on some of the earliest Velzy pigs from the mid-50's was pretty extreme and I find those the most interesting. 16" nose, 17+" tail, 8" tail block and a beautiful combination of curves. At first glance they look pretty simple but if you take a closer look every contour and design element is very thoughtful and exactly in the right place, never better. I'll just say that the design is "subtly complex" or "complex in it's simplicity" not unlike what was being created by the artists and architects of the mid-century. Velzy's design was groundbreaking, enduring, and those early examples were pure art. I'm glad we live in a time when many surfers embrace surfings roots and designs. Riding a proper pig, nice and dense, sans modern rocker and modern foiling is just pure fun. A clean solid feeing that defies description, I'm hooked….again."
gene and i have collaborated on a surfboard design. the COOPERFISH BLACKBOARD. below are some photos of that board in action.
