Daniel's gift.
daniel from Argentina sent this to me via surfapig@live.com i have no info on this board. It looks a lot like the surfboards australia I picked up at the cooperfish calendar auction. I have yet to shredd that board, but look forward to it in the near future. anyone know anything. the board looks rad daniel. i'd give it a go with the fin you have and try to make or get a D fin for it. you might have to replace the box. YOU ARE STOKED to get that as a gift. Thank you for the contribution!
"HI there ! My name is Daniel and I am from Argentina. First of all congrats on your blog, it is really amazing !!! I really love the pigs and the traditional surfing feels like. A couple of days ago, a friend of mine showed me an old board, it was a bilbo he bought 40 years ago. To me surprise, he gave it to me as a gift !!! It is not in mint condition, but I will try to restore it. However I am not familiar at all with this kind of construction. I do not know if it is made of PU, EPS, or what, with Poly or Epoxi, or if it is a hollow board ( in fact it sound like a hollow surfboard ). I would really appreciate if you could give me some info, especially re the construction ( I am attaching some pictures ) In spite if it is not a Pig, I promise to send some pictures, but in a better condition. Regards, Daniel"

balsa bill surfs a jp pig at a secret spot!
Andrew D brought this to my attention. Jim Phillips shaped this for Balsa Bill. Andrew said "This is a board Jim built a few years ago, before my pig, for Balsa Bill Yerkes. " Balsa Bill said this about it: "Surfing my Jim Phillips shaped squaretail made from a Clark heavy pour "classic" blank with a custom 3" balsa stringer and who should show up but Will Lucas with his video camera. I decided to intercut the video footage with some Super 8 film I shot from the board with my Nautica underwater movie camera."
old beater that Kai surfs
my buddy Ross of rincon sent me this via surfapig@live.com. I love this. this board is LEGIT. boards like this used to get thrown into dumpsters back in the 70's and 80's. THANKS ROSS! godd on ya KAI!
"Yo Mike, Came across a neat pig the other day and thought I'd send it your way. You may have seen it before, as it belongs to our friend Kai from San Clemente. She scored it at Basham's and rides it regularly. Judging solely by the looks of it, I remember the board being around 9'4"ish in length, sporting an opaque blue hotcoat with no logo, and delivering just the right dose of heavy. Sorta reminded me of the Bing before she got cleaned up. I wonder if there's a secret gem hiding under there? Hope all is well, looking forward to JTG!! Take care amigo. -Ross"
COOPERFISH BLACKBOARD
gene cooper is a long time friend of mine. 12 years ago I met him out at rincon. i was in the middle of my graduate degree in pure mathematics. i told him i'd build him a web page. i did. later ...once in life...he said "mike you are one of the few people in my life that has actually done what they said they are going to do". that meant something to me. gene has LONG since known about my affinity towards surfboards that have the elements characteristic of a "pig". gene and I are collaborating on a design. hopefully anyone reading this knows gene's attention to detail and his craftsmanship chops. I have been raised on point breaks and cooperfish surfboards. we are going to try to honor tradition and function with this design. i post up pictures of this design as it comes to fruition.
