greg, and the endless wave!

the internet is a wonderful place. it holds you accountable, and introduces you to electronic representations of a person. I have received many correspondence from people all around the globe. I hope to surf with most of them. Greg is one. Greg....stoked for you! thanks for all the support, even more stoked for you reaching out to me...and for what you seem to have going on over there. thank you for blogging. greg sent this to me via surfapig@live.com:Mike! We’re putting together a new shop, so you know we needed a flagship shop-model. Here she is : Built with one purpose : mining Pinched rails, no concaves, flat deck, healthy tail kick, rolled bottom… What do you think???
to that i responded... IT'S GOING TO BE SSSSIIICCCCKKKK!!!!

wax buddy!

I am so stoked on my wax buddy! it was time to strip and re-wax my cooperfish flex pig!i used to just think a wax comb was a wax comb... now...with this wax buddy...every thing is different. these things fit nicely in your hand, as a result..it gives a better angle or something. it seemed like it was the easiest wax stripping I have ever done!
after stripping the wax yesterday, i waxed her up this morning and had a sesh!! check the video!!

greg pearson, and the stoke mine.

greg pearson is a stoke miner, and a stoke provider. a wax comb in of itself is some what nominal, perhaps trivial... even a wax comb made from recycled plastic. but, the facts are...you need a wax comb. how many times have you needed to strip the shity wax off your log and searched high and low for a comb? i have done it more times than i care to admit. just recently i used a broken fcs fin i found in the lagoon at sliders for my make shift comb. greg took it upon himself to send me a care package. NICE!!!! i have to say, i will be sharing the stoke to my buddies. nice work greg!

greg pearson and a re-furbished beater!

greg pearson of wax buddy sent me this via surfapig@live.com: I’ve had two good surfs on her so far. The lack of belly + no stringer are an interesting twist. After getting the paint off, I decided to leave the original mess underneath on display. 99% sure she’s nothing special. And if that’s so, then certifiably, by accident, someone in popout land created something great.

you have to love a board with a new lease on life!

stoke is contagious.

Greg sent me this via surfapig@live.com. I am humbled by the appreciation I have been receiving as of late. I get so stoked to stoke people out. I am grateful to provide a resource for people to learn about pig boards. here is what he had to say: Hey Mike, Like many others- still checking in to see what your blog is up to daily. Really identified with the recent tales of your bing restoration. I’d sent you that message back in the fall about the old pop-out pig I was beginning to restore. Since starting my project, what you wrote about the bing is exactly how I’ve felt. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. This thing was a NIGHTMARE. Fix one thing, only to find 10 more wrong…rails, bottom, deck, tail, etc etc etc. Thought you’d dig an almost there photo. She’s 9’3.5” go figure. Re done with opaque black resin tint, new fin based on: what was left of the original / your Coop black board / the wealth of knowledge on this blog. I’ve completely lost track of the hours into this thing… but that’s just due to my position in the beginners curve. Will send photos once its finished and launched. Best, Greg
