grant newby is up to again! check out this sled and and the ride report! Hi Mike,just picked up this latest board I built , thought you may like it. Old school PIG with a modern twist for a young guy. Long nose concave to quite rolled out through the tail. Old school D fin. 9ft 6" x 23 3/4" x 3 with a wet rub matt finish. Just heard from Luke that he was hanging 10 on his first wave at the Pass Byron Bay today and was stoked with the whole package.

check this out! kinda looks familiar. grant newby sent this to me via surfapig@live.com: Hi Mike, I shaped the foam one for Christmas and loved it so much , such a fun board. So now it has a woody brother exactly the same specs all out of Paulownia. 10ft x 24" x 3 1/2" wide point 18" back for 1/2 way. Long concave from the nose to the wide point. Then rolled V out through the tail. Fun all the way. 6mm Paulownia frame 8mm deck , 6mm bottom and solid laminated rails.Very strong unglassed at 10kg / 22lb 4oz top and bottom to protect it and no more. Strong enough to surf it unglassed and just oiled , but wanted to surf it and try it with the added weight.She is all ready for the Wooden Board Day next weekend.

"Hi Mike, here is a couple of shots of a board I shaped for Christmas for myself. "The Alley Slider" ,  named after my local break and favouite Gold Coast beach. She is 10ft x 24" x 3 1/2" with the wide point 18" or more behind 1/2 way and a long concave running back to the wide point and a slight rolled v out through the kick in the tail. The rails are pinched but full as well to get the volume I was after. Nice glass job by Dan Mc Donald here on the Gold Coast. This board is so much fun to ride and seems to do everything I had hoped of it."
